In 2002 Gina Bishop established herself as a Private Chef. Serving delicious, gourmet food and wine to clients in the Northern and Southern California areas. 

 

Gina is a native of Napa Valley, where her devotion to food and wine began early. A 99' aumni of Napa Valley Cooking School, she worked under Michelin starred chefs in the valley and abroad.

 

Now currently residing in San Diego, Gina lives with her husband and two young daughters.

Living in San Diego gives her an opportunity to take advantage of the local & abundant produce California has to offer, appreciating the local seafood and locating the best meats in the area.

 

Gina is an expert at  accommodating her clients needs, providing exceptional service and care for your special events and intimate dinner parties as your menu consultant and event hostess. Chef Gina is extremely professional and fully insured.

"I cannot give enough praise to Chef Gina Bishop!  While recently on vacation in La Jolla from Manhattan, she was kind enough to help us with an event for 20 people.  The term, help, however, is an understatement!!  She put together an amazing menu, shopped for all the ingredients, prepared it all in our kitchen, served it beautifully, and then cleaned it all up leaving the kitchen sparkling.  Meanwhile she was incredibly friendly and pleasant, charming us and all of our guests with wonderful humor and cooking tips.

Being from Manhattan, we consider ourselves food snobs.  I can honestly say that Chef Ginas feast was one of the most delicious meals we have ever eaten.

right down to the sauce, was made from scratch and was inventive, fresh, and absolutely delicious.  Our guests were so impressed and well-fed!

Chef Gina has an amazing ability to cook very gourmet food in a relaxed and effortless manner, truly taking our party to a different level.

And most importantly, we didnt lift a finger!!

We only wish she was on the East Coast."

My girlfriends and I hired Chef Gina for our girlfriend's bachelorette party in Del Mar.  Chef Gina prepared a four course dinner and mixology presentation for the five of us.  The process from beginning to end was nothing but a pleasure!  Gina was incredibly professional with scheduling, menu planning, pricing, etc.   The hardest part of the entire experience was picking from all of the AMAZNG dishes that Gina offered.  Chef Gina arrived on time, prepped everything and cleaned up before she left.  It was completely effortless on our part and all we had to do was enjoy the food an cocktails.  We had so much fun with Chef Gina as she showed us how to make four original cocktails--her attention detail was impeccable from all of the garnishes, to providing us with a printout of the recipes to keep.  We listened to music and hung out with Chef Gina just like she was the sixth member of our bachelorette party.  Dinner was spectacular--one of the best meals that I've had in a long time.  The food was original and delicious.  In fact, it was far better than any of the other meals that we ate in Del Mar's best restaurants that weekend.  Chef Gina even saved us the leftovers (which we devoured the next day)!  I cannot recommend Chef Gina enough--her dinner that night was the bride's favorite moment of the entire weekend.  We only wish that Chef Gina was in Los Angeles so that we could hire her every weekend!

"This summer I celebrated a BIG birthday and wanted to make it a special occasion.   Chef Gina did just that!  She came to beach house where we were staying and prepared a fabulous meal for our group of 14.   I did not have to lift a finger.  Gina arrived a couple hours before the party began with everything she needed to create a dinner we won't soon forget.  From the appetizers (blue cheese creme brûlée figs, truffle french fries, bruschetta) to the braised beef short ribs, the food was superb.  Chef Gina used our decades old family recipe for my birthday cake!  She went above and beyond our expectations - she  even made a last minute stop to get the ice cream.

And when the evening was over, she and her assistant had the kitchen looking as if no one had been there!  I cannot say enough about Gina - hers skills as a chef and as a person.  Everyone  who was at the party is still talking about Chef Gina. I know we will be using her again."
